Dublin Grafton Street school

The English school in Dublin Grafton Street has more than 25 years experience. The building has 4 floors and is in the city centre. The school works well thanks to an excellent team of teachers and administration team: there are departments that organise the extra-curricular leisure programme in the afternoon and at the weekends, the accommodation department that is in charge of selecting families and monitoring the residences, an IELTS coordinator that is in charge of preparation for official exams in a department dedicated to the wellbeing of the students during their stay in Dublin.

Our school is on Grafton Street, which is one of the two best shopping streets in the charming centre of Dublin. 

Grafton Street units St Stephens Green park with Trinity College and has been pedestrianised since the 80s. It is very famous for its street artists that animate the street at any hour. Temple Bar neighbourhood and the main leisure tourists areas and shopping areas are a few minutes walk away.

At night in Dublin

  • Temple bar is the area of bars and nightlife in Dublin
  • It is the district full of bars where the music comes from the pubs themselves and there is music on the street and street artists. 
  • One of the most famous is the Temple Bar which gets its name from the district. The norm is to have a pint of beer, since copas is not the culture here. 
  • The clubs in Dublin are normally open between 10pm and 3am (club license) and in general stop serving at 2:30am. The entry prices vary between 5€ and 15€. The prices of the drinks are usually more than in the bars.

Scharrif House

We offer accommodation in a house in the centre of Dublin. The school is just a 20 minute walk from the accommodation. The LUAS, the public transport service is just in front of the residence, in the same area as many supermarkets, shops and bars. 

The flat is totally equipped and has been recently refurbished. There is a security service 24 hours, TV, wifi and washing machines. We will provide sheets and towels. 

Two dogs and a cat live on one floor. The students will not have to deal with them.

How to get to Dublin

Dublin international airport is located 12km from the city.

The airlines that fly to Dublin from Spain are:

  •   Ryanair

There is the option of a transfer from the airport to your accommodation. 

Departure airports: Alicante, Barcelona, Bilbao, Gerona, Ibiza, Las Palmas, Madrid, Malaga, Murcia, Santander, Santiago de Compostela, Seville and Valencia. 

How to get from the airport to the city:

There are 6 public transport buses that go from the city centre to Dublin airport. 

  • Blue buses: Aircoach company connects the airport with Ballsbridge and Donnybrook (in the south of the city), stopping at the main hotels and streets in the centre of Dublin. The price is 7€ one way and 12€ return. The duration is approximately 30 minutes and leaves every 10 minutes. 
  • Dublin Bus: 41, 41A, 41B, 41C. The urban bus lines leave every 45 minutes and go to Edén Quay at the price of an urban ticket. There is a special other line, the Busaras buses, to the airport with one stop on O´Connell Street. This costs 6€. 
  • Taxis from Dublin airport: You can get a taxi from the airport to anywhere in Dublin city. The average tarrif from the airport to the centre is approximately 20€, depending on the distance and the time you are travelling. Ask the driver what the tarrif will be before getting in, just to make sure. There are extra charges for extra passengers, luggage, animals (except guide dogs), time of the day, Sundays and festivals.
