Founded in 1983, the English school in Bournemouth offers a familiar and welcoming environment. Our students feel at home and will improve their English in a safe and friendly environment.
The home of the school is the elegant Victorian building located in a quiet residential area; the centre is a short walk away. All of the facilities have been recently refurbished; the school has spacious classrooms, a living room and a beautiful garden, perfect for relaxing with friends. There is internet connection and computers available for the students.
Bournemouth is one of the most popular holiday destinations in England. The sights in the summer, its seven miles of beautiful golden beaches and the great variety of shops to go shopping makes Bournemouth an exceptional destination for your English course.
The University of Bournemouth attracts thousands of students every year that want to study and live here. Nearly 15,000 students live in the city, and its estimated that 10% of the students are international. Also, the English courses attract more than 50,000 teenagers every year.
The school is accredited by:
The Premium programme is open to the youngest students from 10 years old, and includes 22 lessons of 40 minutes per week. The characteristics of the general English course are the same as the Standard option.
As well as 2 extra lessons per week, the Premium programme includes 9 excursions instead of 7 and a daily transfer service for the students staying with a family.
A familiar, relaxed and caring environment is the best for learning English. All of the families have been chosen carefully; they offer full board, laundry service and a warm and welcoming environment. Our welcoming families will offer all of the home comforts that you need and will give you the opportunity of living the British culture, as well as practicing English with natives.
You must remember that there aren´t 2 families exactly the same, so each situation is unique, however the team at the school and us will try to ensure that our students stay is happy at all times.
In each family, there can be 2 or 3 students in the school, staying in double or triple rooms.
The students that choose the standard option will have to come and return every day by local bus. The bus pass is included in the price of the programme. Bournemouth isn´t a big city and getting around by bus is easy and safe. The first day, the family will explain where the closest bus stop is to their house, and where you need to get off to get to the school.
If they prefer to have a daily transfer service by private bus you can choose the premium option, which includes a daily service to and from the school in a private bus from the family homes to the school and also includes a transfer service to participate in activities in the afternoon and at night.
The Premium option is available for students from 10 to 18 years old; the standard option for students from 13 to 18 years old.
The students have full board. Breakfast and dinner will be in the house with the family, whilst the lunch they will have a packed lunch to take to school.
Normally the students should return to the family house at 18:00 for dinner. The curfew at night changes in relation to the age of the students. Those younger than 15 should return at 20:30, those who are 15 at 21:30, 16 at 22:30 and 17 at 23:30
