This beautiful city offers much more than a simple holiday of sun and beaches. Nice is the capital of the "Blue coast" and is the fifth biggest city in France. Its great architectural beauty makes it one of the most important cultural centres in the region. The old city is made up of narrow, winding streets where you can find boutiques and little shops, as well as magnificent restaurants where you can try all types of fish and shellfish, and some delicious typical Italian or north African dishes.
The flower market offers a magnificent sight to behold when the flowers are in full bloom, and at night becomes a lively spot with bars, restaurants and many jewellery stops.
The city is also an excellent starting point to visit other attractions from the Riviera to Monaco, Cannes, Antibes and Saint Tropez.
Buses: the bus network is extense. The majority of the routes run from 06:00 or 07:00 to around 21:00, with a more limited night service. You can get tickets from any newsagent or better, on the bus (single tickets only)
The Archaeological museums of Nice-Cimiez: more than a useum, it is an archaeological site, more than 2 hectares, where you can visit the amphitheatre and baths.
Constructed on a 220m hill, it is a massive work of the 16th century with bastions and thick walls. The view is exceptional, as you can see Italy and on the clearest days, you can also see Córcega.
The old city contains in its small streets some immense treasures.
Opened in 1885, it replaced the old theatre that was destroyed in a fire in 1881.
One of the liveliest places in the city
The Cathedral takes the name of the Catholic patron saint of Nice. The Bell tower is from the 18th century.
A space of more than 2km2 from the sea to the hills. Today, it is one of the main leisure places for the people of Nice.
This promenade is known worldwide. It is a symbol of Nice, always full of flowers
The main nightlife is the Vieux Nice and the Rue Massena, where the nightlife continues until the early hours of the morning. If you prefer a more relaxed night, you can go to the theatre, ballet or opera.

Living with a French family means you have the opportunity to share your own way of life, as well as having the opportunity to practice what you have learnt in class. The family will welcome you to talk about your own country. Normally the families are in the same neighbourhood as the school, or very close and well connected. In general, French families are open minded, hospitable and very friendly. The families can be single people or married couples that have enough time to share with their guests.

The airport for Nice is the "Côte D´Azur". It is 7km from the city centre.
No había demasiados españoles.
