Edinburgh is in full swing and its nightlife is excellent thanks to locals and the many tourists who visit the city every year. There is no exclusive party area, but several different ones: George Street in the New Town, High Street in the Old City, the university and the Grassmarket. Broughton Street tends to attract a "motley" clientele, while Leith is one of the most popular areas.
The bars in the city range from traditional taverns with hundreds of years of history to modern designer bars. Once the bars close, people often go to the clubs that offer a variety of music to suit all tastes. There are many places that offer live music, and big concerts are usually held at Murrayfield Stadium.
