Spanish Language School in Salamanca

Living and learning Spanish in Salamanca is like being transported to another era: the entire city center is plastered in golden, historic buildings dating as far back as the 13th century, the moment of ascendancy of a place that for the rest of the second millennium would feature as the most distinguished university town in the entire peninsula. To this day, Salamanca has one of the most reputed learning centers in the country, which, in turn, explains the huge concentration of students (roughly 30,000 of them) in what is otherwise a relatively small city (roughly 150,000 people).

Therefore a bustling, young population provides the perfect environment to enjoy a productive spell in this city of culture par excellence, learning the language. Which is precisely where our school enters the equation: blending right into the architecture of the city, our Salamanca venue is located in a converted convent, which provides it with the quaint simplicity of its exterior, while indoors the modernized facilities are spread over a property of 5,420 square meters, with a lovely central courtyard.

In Salamanca there is a unique phenomenon which can be witnessed: despite the fact that this is very much a traditional city with over 2,300 years of history behind it, it still manages to maintain its youthful vibe and feel like a young and fresh place. The many students who fill up the prestigious university’s classrooms bring the city streets to life year after year, making the population in general on the younger side during term time whilst also creating an atmosphere which is full of excitement and a real lust for life which infuses every part of the city.

Extra-curricular Activities

Just because Salamanca has been a student city for centuries does not mean that it is all work and no play. Visit Salamanca and see for yourself how the city really comes alive, as the youthful population here ensures that there is no need to worry about being able to find a vibrant nightlife scene or something exciting to do every day. In fact, the presence of so many students here is what tends to ensure that there is always something going on, as while they may study hard they also like to let their hair down and party hard as well. Our school has prepared a full programme of activities for you so that you can get to know the city and experience all it has to offer, and these will all fit ideally with your course in order to ensure that you are getting the right mixture of entertainment and learning during your stay. Host family in the city

Living with a host family has two major benefits. Firstly, it's the best way to get to know Spanish culture and see what daily life is like for a native Spaniard. Secondly, our host families will speak to you in Spanish all the time, helping you practice the skills you're working on in Spanish classes in an authentic context.

Our host families vary from young families to one or two retired people, all of whom are Spanish speakers and are carefully selected to ensure that your stay will be as pleasant as possible. We do our best to find home stays that will treat you as part of the family.

You may choose between a single or double room as well as no meals, half board (breakfast & dinner) or full board (all meals).

If you have any allergies, special dietary requirements, dislike of particular pets or any other special requests, just let us know in advance and we'll do our best to satisfy your needs.
