Torquay

Torquay is a popular tourist center. It has a population of 60,000 inhabitants and is the largest city in this area. It offers guests a pleasant climate and lush vegetation. It was originally a fishing village, but gradually became a popular vacation spot.

The microclimate of the city is unique in the region and includes up to tropical vegetation. This favourable location makes it one of the most interesting destinations to learn English. 23% of the population is under 20 years old. Studying English here, you will enjoy a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, life on the beach and water sports. Remember that the school has its own charter and at the same school sailing lessons are given for all levels.

The city has more than 20 beaches and in it there are options for all tastes: some are with sandy soils, red clay rocks or just gravel.

Useful Information:

Moving around the city

Torquay town is very small. The best way to visit is to walk. To navigate in the bay you can have many choices of public transportation: trains, boats and buses.

And at night?

Torquay has an unrivaled nightlife. There's something for everyone: world-class restaurants, continental style bars, live music, festivals, fairs, vibrant nightclubs, fireworks and carnivals.

Every evening you can choose from plenty of activities, from theatre performances to a variety of pubs, bars and nightclubs. The offer is varied; there is music of all styles. Most places close at 03:00 am. The center of the nightlife of the city is the port that has a vibrant and cosmopolitan atmosphere.

The beaches

Along the 22 miles of the coast of the English Riviera there are over 20 beaches and coves.
Some are white sandy beaches, others are smaller and more isolated. Many of the beaches in this area have received prestigious awards for cleanliness and quality.
